The United States lawmakers decided to shutdown government on the first anniversary of Trump presidency. A humble Teacher warned of another shutdown from the shores of Galilee. “And I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after these things do not have anything more to do. But I will show you whom you should fear: fear the one who has authority, after the killing, to throw you into hell! Yes, I tell you, fear this one!” Luke 12:4-5. The one who has power to make a real shutdown, His good news and call to repentance cannot be lightly considered.
One day we all have to face death by some means, whether we like it or not. It is the shutdown of our natural bodies. Many don’t ponder beyond that.
While alive, we hardly stop to think how our 60,000 miles of blood vessels carry its logistics operation 24/7 without any sort of breaks. Do you also know that our hearts beat about 100,000 times non-stop everyday?
The architect and CEO of this sophisticated system manages not just one but 7.5 billion of them everyday, in addition to the billions of other living species. Not one of our governments can manage one single living being for even a day.
We do care about our governments and our little lives more than what He cares about. He never shuts down. He who maintains these ecosystems never slumbers nor sleeps. Neither does He take a single coffee-break!
He reminds us to care more about repentance and being right with Him. and stop worrying about what we will eat and where we will die.
As the government is in shutdown the Lord is reminding to consider crying out to Him for mercy. It needs to happen from the White House to Prayer House. If we humble ourselves and pray, He will show up and surprise our adversaries and deliver us big-time. Fear Him enough as to revere and love Him. He is the epitome of love!
An intercessor is compared to a ‘poor wise man’ in Ecclesiastes. It says he delivered the city by his wisdom when a powerful king came against a little city. Ecc 9:14-16. Keep up the good work of an intercessor in these strategic times!
We are foolish to think it is too much for God to handle human affairs. We ignore the fact that He flawlessly maintains every intricate organs in our body without any shutdowns or breaks! Imagine if He asks us to pay for taking care of our organs functions everyday, like our governments do with taxes and power companies showering us with gas bills?
No Bills To Pay. But the Free Ride does not last long.
Just above Luke 12:4 He also warns, For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. Luke 12:2-3
Let us hold on the true light and love Him like a good soldier. It is worth than every shutdown. It is wise to choose Him while there is still a today before His showdown begins!
